NIGHTCAP’S STORY
Nightcap Ridge is surrounded by Nightcap National Park, the traditional land of the Bundjalung People, and in particular the Widjabul People, who have inhabited the area for thousands of years. The park contains many ancient sites of cultural significance, including ceremonial and sacred sites that are still actively used by local Aboriginal people today.
The property itself has a long and remarkable story, shaped by the land itself and the people who have cared for it over time. Once cleared and used as a dairy farm after World War II, the property began its quiet transformation in the late 1980s when a passionate owner set out to restore the rainforest that had once stood here, planting thousands of native trees that now form the lush forest surrounding the property today. Over the decades, the landscape slowly returned to life, creating the spectacular natural setting guests experience today. The next owners expanded the scope of the property, building the Palm Room, Rose Gum and Blue Fig in 2019.In 2025, creative couple Adam Powell and Nick Bond became the new custodians of Nightcap Ridge, embracing the opportunity to continue its story while welcoming guests to discover this special corner of the Northern Rivers.
